Mary Jane Cox

Mary Jane Cox, 62, of Chillicothe, unexpectedly passed from this life early Friday morning, July 16, 2010 in Pike Community Hospital, Waverly. She was born Mar. 23, 1948 in Chillicothe, the daughter of Rev. John Owen and Mary Louise (Black) Roof. In Oct, 1991 she married Roger A. Cox who survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Kimberly (Ronald) Swisher, Jackson, a son, Richard M. Shoemaker, Chillicothe, step-sons, Chris (Lisa) Cox and Kevin Cox, both of Chillicothe and Tim (Karri) Cox, McArthur, grandchildren, Jason Crowe, Joshua Crowe, Danielle Gallaugher, Raythan Gallaugher, Leanna Cox, Kristen Cox, Carter Cox, Courtney Cox and Alissia Fields, a sister, Crystal MacIntosh, Chillicothe, brothers, Jerry (Jane) Roof, Jackson, Gary (Linda) Roof, Lawton, OK and Terry Roof, Chillicothe. Her parents, a sister, Linda Cabetio and a brother, Edwin Roof preceded her in death. Mrs. Cox was a retired employee of General Electric in Circleville, with 34 years of service, retiring in 2003. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed camping at Long's Retreat. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, July 22, 2010 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL Home with Rev. Mark Pfeifer officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday.
