Mary E. Boyer

Mary E. Boyer, 84, of Chillicothe, passed from this life early Friday morning, Jan. 20, 2012 in Adena Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. She was born July 3, 1927 in Jackson County, the daughter of Albert and Ethel (Shoemaker) Smith. On Nov. 17, 1963 she married Harold M. Boyer who preceded her in death May 8, 1998. Surviving is a son and daughter-in-law, Timothy M. and Kristin Boyer, Chillicothe; granddaughters, Alexandria Boyer and her fiance, Neil Hertenstein, Hilliard and Mackenzie Boyer, Chillicothe; sisters, Carol and husband, Paul Moore and Evelyn Pollard, all of Jackson and several nieces and nephews. Her parents and 2 brothers preceded her in death. Mrs. Boyer was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church; the 3M Sunday school class and was a Sunday school teacher for more than 30 years. She will be remembered for her baby sitting services, serving many families for more than 30 years. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Greg Elliott officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Minford, OH. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:30 am until the hour of service on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church.
