Martha J. (Betts) Fick

Martha Jo “Martie” Fick, 84, of Chillicothe, passed from this life on Tuesday evening, January 5, 2016 in Traditions of Chillicothe following a brief illness. She was born July 1, 1931 in Nelsonville, Ohio, the daughter of Donald and Lillian (Linscott) Betts. On August 8, 1954 she married Robert L. Fick who survives.
Also surviving are daughters, Debbie (Don) Funk, London, Ohio and Bettsy Fick, Chillicothe; a son, Rob (Sandy) Fick, Yalikavak, Turkey; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; a sister, Miriam Gage, Las Vegas, Nevada and many friends in Ohio and Florida.
Mrs. Fick was a homemaker and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Chillicothe. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and she never met a stranger. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crafts and dancing.
A Graveside Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 9, 2016 in Greenlawn Cemetery, Nelsonville, Ohio with Rev. Euggle Robertson officiating. The family will receive friends at the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
