Marjorie A. Adams, 86, of Chillicothe, was called home to the Lord, Monday, December 18, 2023 after a brief illness. Marge was born July 4 1937, in Pike County, to the late Purl Brown and Amanda Claytor Brown.
Surviving are; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Johnny Ray; Granddaughters, Brandy (Derek) Gifford and Shiann (Cynthia) Ray; Great-grandsons, Graham and Miles Gifford; sisters, Linda (Marvin) Seymour and Katherine Butterbaugh. Also surviving is Marge’s special friend, Wanda Adams, who she loved as a sister and former husband Charles Adams.
Marjorie retired from Scioto Paint Valley Mental Health Center. She worked at Floyd Simantel Clinic for numerous years up until her retirement at age 80. She enjoyed taking trips with her sisters and lunch dates with her friend Wanda. But Marge’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life. She loved watching them grow through life and always telling them that their “mammy” loved them.
Along with her parents she is proceeded in death by nine brothers and sisters. Upon her arrival to Heaven, a celebration took place when she reunited with her son Kevin Adams. To imagine the joy she felt after this long awaited reunion is an understatement.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 22, 2023 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME, with Pastor Dan Bennett, officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Friends and family may call between 11am-1pm on Friday. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Scioto Paint Valley Mental Health Center in Chillicothe.
