Marilyn Sue Jenkins, 81, of Londonderry, passed from this life Friday afternoon, December 28, 2012 in Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. She was born April 12, 1931 in Kinnikinnick, Ohio, the daughter of John and Lulu Mae (Arledge) Toohey. On January 19, 1947 she married Clarence A. “Shorty” Jenkins who preceded her in death in 1975. She later married James D. Hafer, II who preceded her in death in 1995.
Surviving are daughters, Janet L. Jenkins and Rebecca S. Jenkins, both of Londonderry, Judy (Terry) Althouse, Chillicothe, Diana (Dana) Thornton, South Salem and Frances (Rodney) Detty, Waverly; sons, Ronald B. “Rojo” (Rozella) Jenkins and Clarence A. “Allen” (Karen) Jenkins, all of Chillicothe; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Carol Louise, a grandson-in-law, Patrick Gray, a granddaughter-in-law, Kandi Althouse, sisters, Norma Burgess and Edna Shoemaker, a brother, Don Toohey and her dog, Mitzy Su.
Mrs. Jenkins was a member of the Eagles Aerie 600 Ladies Auxiliary. She was wonderful mother and grandmother was loved by all.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, January 3, 2013 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Larry Leasure officiating. Burial will follow in Crouse Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Thursday.
