Margaret E. Butcher, 86, of Chillicothe, went to be with her Lord on Saturday evening, Jan. 3, 2009 at her residence following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009 at the Rozelle Creek Holy Chapel Church with Rev. Don Hamilton and Rev. Fred Leasure officiating. Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday. Mrs. Butcher was born Mar. 19, 1922 in Ross County, the daughter of Josiah and Mary (Clark) Edwards. On Oct. 14, 1947 she married Rev. Harley Russell Butcher who preceded her in death Sept. 20, 1982. Surviving are daughters, Judy (George) Christman and Ethel Brickles, sons, Danny (Debra) Butcher and Ronnie (Tammy) Butcher, all of Chillicothe, grandchildren, Willie (Pam) Butcher, whom she raised, Tanya (John) Dunfee, Deidre (Jason) Schreck, Daphene Butcher, George Christman, Charles Christman and Josh Brickles, 6 great-grandchildren, sisters, Ada Rooker and Margie Brown, a brother, Everett (Sharon) Edwards, all of Chillicothe and a host of nieces and nephews. Her parents, a granddaughter, Danielle Butcher, 2 sisters and 6 brothers preceded her in death. She was a member of the Rozelle Creek Holy Chapel Church, of which she, along with her late husband, were the founders.
