Margaret M. Bethel

Margaret M. Bethel, 95, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Monday evening, June 30, 2008 in Heartland of Chillicothe following an extended illness. She was born Mar. 4, 1913 in Hocking County, OH, the daughter of Frank and Ressa (Hartsough) Wagner. On June 22, 1940 she married Wilbur D. Bethel, who preceded her in death Sept. 28, 1978. Surviving are daughters, Carol A. and husband, David R. Owen, Ashland, OH, Anita K. Ugarte, Las Vegas, NV and Juanita K. and husband, Douglas K. Gabriel, Chillicothe, a son, Wilbur "Gene" Bethel, 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and brothers, Arthur W. Wagner, Chillicothe and Woodrow Wagner, FL. Her parents, 3 sisters and 3 brothers preceded her in death. Mrs. Bethel was a cook for several area restaurants and schools, and she retired from the Chillicothe City Schools. She was a devoted member of the Bridge Street Church of Christ and enjoyed doing crafts. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Thursday, July 3, 2008 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Evangelist Gary Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:30 am until the hour of service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bridge St. Church of Christ Building Fund.
