Louise M. Melott

Louise Mae Melott, 78, of Chillicothe, passed from this life on Monday morning, July 2, 2012 in Adena Regional Medical Center. She was born April 28, 1934 in Chillicothe, the daughter of Fred and Edith (Schofield) Stewart. On July 15, 1956 she married George F. Melott, Sr., who preceded her in death in 1993.
Surviving are her daughters, Betty Higginbotham, Frankfort, Janet Claytor, Chillicothe and Lisa Melott, Ray; her sons, David Melott and George F. Melott, Jr and his companion, Shannon Williams, all of Chillicothe; 15 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Cassel; a sister-in-law, Evelyn Stewart, both of Chillicothe and several nieces and nephews. Her parents, a sister, Norma Jean Stewart, a brother, James Stewart and a son-in-law, James Claytor preceded her in death.
Mrs. Melott was a homemaker and a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, July 6, 2012 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Elder Dean Goff officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday.
