Liza Jane Tackett
March 13, 1913 — February 24, 2008
Liza Jane Tackett, 94, of Waverly, formerly of Chillicothe, passed from this life on Sunday afternoon, Feb. 24, 2008 following an extended illness. She was born Mar. 13, 1913 in Magoffin County, KY, the daughter of Floyd and Vinet (Tackett) Howard. On Feb. 10, 1931 she married William Thomas Tackett who preceded her in death in 1979. Surviving are daughters, Marie Rose (the late John Rose), Waverly, Maxine (Roger) Liggins, Rose (Glenn) Detty, Gloria (Frank) Loel and Versie (Dwight) Butterbaugh, all of Chillicothe, sons, Robert (Sharon) Tackett and Harlen (Linda) Tackett, all of Chillicothe, many grandchildren, including Chestine ( Mack) Walk, Waverly, whom she raised, many great and great great grandchildren and 4 sisters. Her parents, sons, Cecil Tackett, William "Buck" Tackett and Burley Tackett, 2 grandchildren, 3 sisters and 5 brothers preceded her in death. Mrs. Tackett was a homemaker and a long-time member of Big Sandy Enterprise Baptist Church. She loved flowers and was a devoted mother and grandmother. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, Feb. 28, 2008 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. Mack Walk officiating. Burial will follow in Caldwell Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday.
