Lillian K. Carpenter

Lillian K. Carpenter, 80, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Sunday morning, Apr. 19, 2009 in Westmoreland Place following an extended illness. She was born Nov. 18, 1928 in Covington, VA, the daughter of Walter and Pauline (Seldomridge) Deffinbaugh. On Jan. 10, 1946 she married Ray H. Carpenter who preceded her in death May 18, 1982. Surviving is a daughter and son-in-law, Sonja and Keith Hurley and a son and daughter-in-law, Clarence R. "Russ" and Debbie Carpenter, all of Chillicothe, grandchildren, Heather and husband, Neil Zizzleman, Brandy and husband, Kent McCord, Aaron and wife, Kimberly Hurley and Mariah Hurley, 2 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and her special friends and caregivers, the staff of Westmoreland Place. Her parents, an infant son, James Allen Carpenter, 8 sisters and a brother preceded her in death. Mrs. Carpenter was a homemaker and had been active in the Ross County Senior Citizens. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, Apr. 23, 2009 in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Kingston with Rev. Ralph Letsche officiating. The family will receive friends at the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday.
