Lester M. Tennant

Lester Morgan Tennant, 93 of Chillicothe, passed from this life Friday morning, Aug. 31, 2007 in the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Chillicothe following an extended illness. He was born July 14, 1914 in Jackson County, the son of Arthur B. and Maude A. (Kight) Tennant. On Apr. 10, 1946 he married Marcella M. Tennant who preceded him in death Feb. 13, 1983. Surviving is a daughter and son-in-law, Cheryll and Gary Howard, Chillicothe, a son, Ronald E. Tennant, Londonderry, 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. His parents, a sister and a brother preceded him in death. Mr. Tennant had served as the Sexton for the Jefferson Township Cemeteries, retiring after many years of service. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving in WW II in the Philippines. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2007 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. J. Darrel Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow in Little Mound Cemetery, Richmond Dale, with military rites by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until the hour of service on Tuesday.
