Leona E. Glassburn, 85, of Chillicothe, passed from this life, Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013 in Traditions of Chillicothe, following a brief illness. She was born May 26, 1927 in Vinton Co., Ohio, to the late William S. and Lelia V. (Allison) Thompson. On Jan. 21, 1963 she married Walden Glassburn, who preceded her in death on Sept. 10, 2002.
Surviving are a step daughter, Barbara (John) Duncan, Lancaster; step daughter-in-law, Judy Glassburn, Chillicothe; step grandchildren, David (Jackie) Glassburn, Steve Glassburn and companion Angie, Patrick (Chris) Glassburn, all of Chilicothe, Regina (Stuart) Tobin, Virginia Beach, VA, and Fred Forsythe and girlfriend Ava, Columbus; step great-grandchildren, Shawn (Holly), Zach and Chad Glassburn, Amanda (Robert) Rue, Tiffany, Emily, Haley, and Aaron Glassburn, all of Chillicothe; step great great-grandchildren, Nathan, Noah, Caleb, Callie, Seth, Jacob, and Isabella; a brother, Clifford S. Thompson, Ray, OH; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a step son David Glassburn; step great-granddaughter, Cara Bolwing; a sister, Ruth Thomas; a brother, Dale Thompson, and an infant brother.
Mrs. Glassburn, along with her husband, was the owner and operator of Glassburn’s Pottery and Gifts. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. David Titler officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery Frankfort. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday.
