Leola M. Evans

Leola M. Evans, 93, of Dublin, formerly of Chillicothe, passed from this life early Saturday morning, May 30, 2009 at the Sanctuary at Tuttle Crossing. She was born Aug. 18, 1915 in Ross County, OH, the daughter of Harry and Cora (Hammon) Burton. On Jan. 28, 1950 she married David W. Evans who preceded her in death Oct. 14, 1975 Surviving are sons, Richard D. and wife Rebecca Evans, Dublin, and John B. and wife, Cheryl Evans, Columbus, grandchildren, Joshua (Courtney) Evans, Lindsay Evans, Cora (Joshua) Brehm and Lenora Evans, great-grandchildren, Caleb, Zoe and Izabela Evans, a brother, Robert (Judith) Evans, Circleville, sisters-in-law, Peggy Burton, New Holland and Edna Burton, Chillicothe and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by parents and brothers Darwin, John, Olen and Leslie Burton. Along with her husband she operated the Evans Electric Co., retiring in 1981. She had attended Brookside Church and was a member of the Chillicothe Art League. She was an accomplished artist and enjoyed playing the piano. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, June 3, 2009 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Norman officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday.
