Judy Ann Mcguire

Judy Ann McGuire, 56, of Chillicothe, lost her long and courageous battle with breast cancer on Friday morning, Feb. 13, 2009 in Heartland of Chillicothe. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, Feb. 16, 2009 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Hartley officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Sunday. Judy was born Nov. 17, 1952 in Chillicothe, the daughter of Donald E., Sr. and Mary E. (Hougland) Hughes. Her husband, Willard L. Sims, Sr. preceded her in death in 1988. On May 22, 1992 she married Phillip J. McGuire who survives. Also surviving are sons, Willard L., Jr. and Shannon Sims, Washington CH, OH and Michael A. Sims and friend, Katrina Ellsworth, Reynoldsburg, OH, step-sons, Shane and Justin McGuire, Waverly, OH, grandchildren, Aaron, Benjamin, Christopher, Catherine, Emily, Katlyn and Isaac, sisters, Sandy (James) Long, Ray, OH and JoAnn (Robert) Scavina, Hilliard, OH, brothers, Donald E.Hughes, Jr. and partner, Felix, of Mexico, Robin (Barb) Hughes, Washington CH, OH and Jay Hughes and his fiance, Mary Wiseman, Wellston, OH, sisters-in-law, Nancy Long and Sue Wipert, both of Chillicothe, brothers-in-law, Donald McGuire, New Albany, OH and Loren McGuire, Chillicothe and a host of uncles, nieces and nephews. Her parents, grandparents and in-laws, Alvin and Virginia McGuire preceded her in death. She was an employee of Heartland of Chillicothe for many years and more recently of Sam's Club. Serving as a volunteer for the American Cancer Society, her involvement in the fight against breast cancer included her participation in the Relay for Life and the Susan G. Koman Race for the Cure. Memorial contributions may be made in care of the family.
