Judith K. Copenhaver

Judith K. Copenhaver, 81, of Chillicothe, passed from this life on Friday August 21, 2026 in Chillicothe Post Acute. She was born on April 14, 1945 in Chillicothe, the daughter of Raymond and Amie (Dyer) Copenhaver.

Surviving are nieces, Cathy Hutchison, Jillian (James) Woods, and Amie (B.J.) Unger, nephews, Rusty (Donna) Mueller, David (Kitty) Mueller, Ray Mueller, Pat (Michele) Mueller, several great nieces and nephews, a sister-in-law, Karen Copenhaver. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Kay, Carol, Barbara, Geneva, and Joyce Elaine, brothers, Russell, Marvin, and Everett, a niece, Sharon Brown, and a nephew, Jerry McGarvey.

Judy was a registered nurse for 42 years, dedicating her career to caring for others at Adena Regional Medical Center and later at the V.A. Medical Center. In 1978, she was honored as Nurse of the Year in recognition of her dedication and service. She attended Brookside Church and was active in the Nursing Guild. Judy enjoyed knitting and had a special love for Hawaii. Above all, she treasured her family and found her greatest joy in caring for and spending time with her nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to both Chillicothe and Circleville Post Acute for their care of Judy.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday August 29, 2026 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. David Dean, officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Saturday.
