Joyce L. (Conrad) Smith

Joyce L. Smith, 94, of Chillicothe, passed from this life on Monday March 25, 2024 in CareCore at Westmoreland, following an extended illness.  She was born on August 19, 1929, the daughter of the late Earl and Mabel (Ellifritt) Conrad.  On October 1, 1954 she married Frank Lane Smith, who preceded her in death on February 22, 2012.

Surviving is her son David L. and his wife, Kristin Smith, Columbus; and her granddaughter Parker Smith of Chicago, IL.  She was preceded in death by her sister Dr. Nancy Lu Conrad.

Joyce was a graduate of Chillicothe High School and a longtime member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years.  She loved animals, and also loved volunteering her time at the old Chillicothe Hospital, and the old Western Elementary in the special education department.  She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

A Graveside Service will be held at approximately 1:15 p.m., Saturday April 6, 2024 in Greenlawn Cemetery, with Pastor Chris Brown, officiating.  The family will receive friends at the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
