Joy Yvonne Houser, 84 of Chillicothe, passed from this life 11:30 am, Friday, May 8, 2015 in the Adena Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was born January 20, 1931 in Chillicothe, the daughter of the late Joseph A. and Cecelia F. Poe Houser.
Surviving are a niece and her fiancé Shirley McCoy and Rodney Woods, 2 great nieces Michelle Hougland and Angella Galloway, two great great nieces Brittany Hougland and Madison Galloway, and two great great nephews Zachary Bethel and Kyle Bethel, a special cousin Melba Linn and a special friend Anne Smith. A sister Sabra Elaine McCoy, a brother, Robert Houser, and a brother-in-law Alva McCoy, and her parents preceded her in death.
Ms. Houser devoted her life to caring for her extended family.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM , Thursday, May 14, 2015 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. Wendell Combs officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Wednesday.
