Joseph R. Young

Joseph R. Young, 74, of Chillicothe, passed from this life on Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 27, 2011 at his home following an extended illness. He was born May 16, 1937 in Ross County, the son of Ray Wheeler and Ruth Ann (Scott) Young. On Mar. 22, 1974 he married Elsie M. Brown who preceded him in death July 20, 2008. Surviving is his fiance, Shirley Himelrick, Richmond Dale; a daughter, Kathy and husband, Clyde Light, Chillicothe, sons, Keith Young, Rodney and wife, Kim Young, Mike and wife, Tracey Young, all of Chillicothe and Randy and wife, Pam Young, Ray; grandchildren, Keith, Scott, Jordan, Jeramiah, Sam, Nickolas, Samantha and Cody; great-grandchildren, C.J. and Connor; sisters, Grace Wallingford, Chillicothe and Betty Fisher, Richmond, VA; several nieces and nephews; a special friend, Ron Eitel and many others and his special canine companions, Maddy and Princess. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Mildred Hart and brother, Wheeler Young. Mr. Young was the owner of Joe's Mobile Home Service. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Fellowship of Christian Hunters. He enjoyed attending Mt. Tabor Community Church where funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011 with Pastor Rick Hartley officiating. Burial will follow in Huntington Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Tabor Community Church Building Fund.
