John W. Vest

John Wesley Vest III, 61, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Saturday morning, Mar. 24, 2007 in Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. He was born Apr. 11, 1945 in Chillicothe, the son of John Wesley Jr., and Helen (Kight) Vest. On July 23, 1977 he married Sherry L. Wilcox who survives. Also surviving are his mother, of Chillicothe, a sister and brother-in-law, Melissa J. and Hershel Gray, Chillicothe, a brother, Larry E. Vest, Kingston, 4 nieces and 5 nephews. His father preceded him in death. Mr. Vest was a former bakery employee and was a veteran, serving in the US Army during the Vietnam era. He had attended the First Church of God and was an antique Chevy enthusiast. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, Mar. 28, 2007 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Rose officiating. Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery with graveside services by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 8 pm on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
