John H. Graves, 87 of Chillicothe, passed from this life, 4:45 PM, August 14, 2009 in the Adena Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, August 18, 2009, in the Fawcett Palmer Funeral Home with Deacon George Lovensheimer officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery, where military grave side rites will be conducted by the Ross County Veteran's Firing Squad. Friends may call at the funeral home from Noon until the hour of service Tuesday. He was born November 20, 1921 in Chillicothe to Herbert H. and Elizabeth Barnes Graves. November 25, 1948, he married the former Mary Ellen Bair who survives. Also surviving are a son and daughter-in-law John Michael and Cynthia Graves, Chillicothe, one granddaughter Ashley Graves; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mr. Graves was a retired supervisor of specialty products from the Mead Paper Company. He was a WWII veteran serving in the US Army Air Corp where he received two purple hearts, and completed 50 missions over the European Theater.
