John Paul Conrad, 68, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Wednesday morning, Dec. 12, 2007 at his residence. He was born July 19, 1939 in Lancaster, OH, the son of Paul and Elvessie (Evans) Conrad. On Aug. 30, 1959 he married Delores A. Davey who preceded him in death May 23, 2000. Surviving is his mother-in-law, Martha Kiger, Lancaster, daughters and sons-in-law, Janie and Jim Toki, Corning, Angie and Rick Fox, Rochester, MI and Ginger and Andrew Heise, Chillicothe, a son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Becky Conrad, Hannahan, SC, grandchildren, Jessica Toki and Daniel Conrad, sisters, Nancy Ritchie and Audrey Spencer, both of Piketon and Janet Russell, Miamisburg, a twin brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Marlene Conrad, Rockbridge, a brother and sister-in-law, Rick and Susan Conrad, Walton, KY, a host of nieces and nephews and his life-long friend, Butch. His parents preceded him in death. Mr. Conrad was a tool and die maker for Anchor-Hocking Glass, Wear-Ever and Cal-Mar Industries, retiring in 2005. For many years, he served as a volunteer on the Springfield Twp. Fire Department and was a woodworker and furniture craftsman, an avid fisherman and outdoorsman and an enthusiastic sports fan. He was a wonderful father and husband and a way-cool father-in-law. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. Daniel Zickafoose, Adena Hospice Chaplin officiating. Burial will follow in Fernwood Cemetery, Lockbourne, OH. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until the hour of service on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Adena Health System.
