Joanne Ludwig Bain

Joanne "Jody" Ludwig Bain of Chillicothe went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2012. She was surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 28, 1930 to the late William C. and Lorena Scheeler Ludwig. She is survived by her four children, James and Connie (Stone) Bain of Beavercreek, Ohio, Deborah (Bain) Strawser and Doug Strawser of Williamsport, Ohio, Thomas III and Jackie (Brown) Bain of Galena, Ohio, and Sharon (Bain) Keefner and Jeffrey Keefner of Portland, Oregon. Grandchildren include Marciana Bain, Laura Bain, Kristen Bain, Daniel Riggin, Kelsey Riggin, Thomas Bain IV, Tara Keefner, and April Keefner. Great grandchildren are Allison Riggin and Skyler Riggin. She was predeceased by two sisters, Evelyn Ankrom and Annette Whitmore. She is survived by one brother, William M. and Christine Ludwig of Advance, North Carolina, and several nieces and nephews. Joanne was a graduate of Chillicothe High School, attended Miami University, and graduated from Ohio State University with a degree in Business Administration. She worked as a part time business teacher, substitute teacher and tutor in various schools, then was employed for over sixteen years by the City of Chillicothe as the Secretary to the Safety-Service Director. She was a lifelong member of Calvary Lutheran Church of Chillicothe, Ohio, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #419 for over 60 years, a member of the American Association of University Women, the Century Club, Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, and Phi Chi Theta Business Honorary for women. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012 in the Calvary Lutheran Church, 74 West Main St., Chillicothe with the Reverends Marcy Bain and Janet Hatch officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. Friends may call at FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME on Monday from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial tributes be made to Calvary Lutheran Church. Her love and devotion to family and friends will be her greatest legacy.
