Jerry L. Soummers

Jerry L. Soummers, 58, of Reno, OH, formerly of Chillicothe, passed from this life Monday evening, Feb. 15, 2010 in Marietta Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He was born June 5, 1951 in Chillicothe, the son of Roy and Helen (Minor) Soummers. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Soummers in 2008. Surviving is his son, Greg Soummers, Chillicothe, a sister, Janet (Jimmy) Woodgeard, Chillicothe, brothers, David (Cindy) Soummers, Reno, OH and John Soummers, Londonderry and a host of nieces and nephews. His parents preceded him in death. Mr. Soummers was a Corrections Officer at the Pickaway Correctional Institute with 21 years of service, retiring in 2009. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. In keeping with his wish of cremation, there will be no funeral services. A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2010 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home.
