Jean V. Ferguson

Jean V. Armstrong Ferguson, 89, of Chillicothe, passed from this life early Monday morning, July 13, 2009 in the Valley View Care Center, Frankfort following an extended illness. She was born May 16, 1920 in Columbus, OH, the daughter of Clarence Lee "Pop" Cottrill and Mabel Amie (Ward) "Mom" Cottrill. She was married to her former husband, John Charles Armstrong in 1939. In 1966 she married Emory F. Ferguson who preceded her in death in 1981. Surviving is a son, Jack L. Armstrong, Chillicothe, grandchildren, Kathryn M. Armstrong, Columbus, Melissa L. (Armstrong) Terry, Newark and Leigh Ann Armstrong, Chillicothe. Her parents, her former husband, John Charles Armstrong and a son, Jerry W. Armstrong preceded her in death. Jean worked for her parents at the Chicken Inn Restaurant in Chillicothe. Following the death of her parents, she was the owner and operator until its sale in 1977. She then moved to southern Florida until 2003 when she returned to the Chillicothe area due to illness. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, July 15, 2009 in Greenlawn Cemetery with Rev. Brent Rolsten officiating. Calling hours will not be observed. The Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home is serving the family.
