Janet Ann Bethel

Janet Ann Friend Bethel, 78, was received into the Kingdom of Heaven at 7:48 am, Wednesday, December 16, 2010. She was peaceful and surrounded by her family and loved ones at her home. She was born on August 28, 1932 in Allen County, Lima, Ohio to Russell M. and Genievive Pfeiffer Friend. Surviving are her two daughters Judith A (Creston R.) Summers of Chillicothe and Susan M. Day of Leesburg, Florida; two grandchildren, Amy Jo (Richard) Foreman of Hilliard, Ohio and Kasey A. Day of Leesburg Florida and great-grandchildren, Dalton Osborne, Dakota and Bryce Kellough of Hilliard, her brother, Robert M. Friend of West Palm Beach, Florida and nieces, Debra Rathman and Diane Hawkins, both of Texas. She graduated from Chillicothe High School in 1950 and attended the Columbus Business and Columbus State Community College. She was a former Charter Member and Pianist for Rainbow Girls. She was a former member of Nu Phi Mu and Sota Zeta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was previously employed at the B&O Railroad and Merrill Publishing Co, Columbus, Ohio, later she retired from the State of Ohio. She was a weekly volunteer for Hospice and was active in the CHS Class of 1950 and a member of Trinity United Methodist and the Emmaus Community. She will be dearly missed by so many caregivers and friends; especially the Beth Moore Bunch. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2010 in Trinity United Methodist Church with Rev. Kurt King officiating. Private interment services will be held at the discretion of the family. Friends may call at the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Adena Health System.
