James H. Woodring

James H. Woodring, 77, of Lancaster, Ohio passed from this life on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at his residence.  He was born November 30, 1936 in Akron, Ohio, the son of Harry T. and Geraldine E. (Roush) Woodring.

Surviving is his mother of Londonderry; sons, James Barry (Julie Ann) Woodring, Newark and Michael Robin (Lisa Ann) Woodring, Logan; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; a sister, Sharon (Wendell) Tackett, Londonderry and several nieces.  He was preceded in death by his father, the mother of their sons, Teresa A. (Schilder) Woodring and a son, Christopher Brian Woodring.

Mr. Woodring was a health care technician and U.S. Air Force veteran, serving 26 years in the Ohio Air National Guard and retiring as a Master Sergeant in 1981.  He later served as building maintenance supervisor for Miami University and Hocking Technical College.  He enjoyed gardening and woodworking.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, January 5, 2014 in Little Mound Cemetery, Richmond Dale with Rev. Gerald Erter officiating and military honors by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard.  Calling hours will not be observed.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to local veterans groups.  The FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME is serving the family
