James Frederick Tuccinardi

Apr 12, 1950 — Jul 6, 2026

Chillicothe

James (Jim) Tuccinardi, 76, of Chillicothe passed from this life Monday, July 6, 2026. He was born April 12, 1950 in Elmira, NY and raised in the nearby small town of Chemung, NY. He was one of six children born to the late Pasquale (Patsy) and Elizabeth (Betty) Sturm Tuccinardi.

Jim is survived by his wife Elizabeth (nee Aspenwall: Cadiz, OH); brothers, Mike and George Tuccinardi, both of NC; sisters, Roberta Tuccinardi and Dorothy Dunbaugh, both of FL; niece, Jeris Tuccinardi, of FL; several nieces and nephews and their families. Jim leaves behind many East Coast cousins and aunt, Yolanda Maffucci, of Darien, CT, and the family of the late Ed and Barb Blum, of Laurelville.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; sister, Delores Hall; sisters in law, Joyce and Sharon Tuccinardi and a niece, Natalie Dunbaugh.

Jim was Baptized in the Saint James Catholic Church in Waverly, NY, he attended Parochial School through eighth grade and graduated from Waverly High School, NY in 1969. A United States Navy Veteran, Jim proudly served his country from 1969-1973 while stationed at the Pensacola Naval Center aboard the U.S.S. Lexington (CV16). Following his discharge Jim worked as licensed stationary engineer (boilers) for V.A. Hospitals in Chillicothe, Cleveland and Dayton, OH. He retired from The OSU facilities in 2010

The Adena Hospital Cancer Center was a very important part of Jim’s life. He was Adamant in “giving back” to the center for all the help and support he received from the doctors and staff; he volunteered there until his illness would not allow him to continue. The family is eternally grateful to the nurses for the outstanding care, love and friendship gained through “Jimbo’s” 20-year journey.

In addition to volunteering Jim enjoyed Yankee baseball, Giants football, the Chemung Speedrome, NASCAR tracks and races, camping wherever and whenever, visiting the Valley, NY and the ocean; the beach was always his happy place.

His friendships with Navy and workplace buddies were forever loyal; his love for his siblings never wavered; his friends were highly valued. He loved, pampered and spoiled all the dogs and cats that were a forever presence; and they adored him.

Most of all Jim was a caring and devoted husband. He and Beth met in Florida and were married the following year at the Chapel of Peace, Naval Station Pensacola, FL on December 30, 1972. It was a summer romance that continued 53 for two best friends.
