James E. Claytor

James Everett Claytor, 49, of Chillicothe, went to be with our Father in Heaven Wednesday afternoon, January 26, 2011, in the Ross Heart Hospital at OSU Medical Center, following a 2 year illness. He was born November 21, 1961, in Chillicothe, to James and June (Stotridge) Claytor. On July 13, 1981, he was untied in marriage to his high school sweetheart Janet Melott, who survives.

Also surviving are his parents, 3 wonderful daughters whom he adored so much, Tamara J. Claytor, Jennifer L. Claytor, and Jamie L. Claytor, all of Chillicothe, 2 grandchildren, which were his pride and joy, Brendon and Kaidon Lytle, sisters; Mary (John) Miller, and Lisa (Jeff) White, both of Chillicothe, mother-in-law; Louise Melott, Chillicothe, brothers-in-law, David and George Melott, Chillicothe, sisters-in-law; Betty Higginbotham, Washington, C.H., and Lisa Melott, McArthur. He is predeceased by his grandparents, several aunts and uncles, and father-in-law, George F. Melott.

James went to Chillicothe High School. Following high school, he joined the U.S. Army National Guard. He was a painter for Colors, Inc of Columbus. James loved riding and fixing up his motorcycle.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 1, 2011, in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Reverend Mark Clendaniel officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
