James F. Anderson, Sr., 79, of Chillicothe, passed from this life early Sunday morning, Mar. 29, 2009 in Heartland of Chillicothe following an extended illness. He was born Apr. 7, 1929 in Greenup, KY, the son of Albert and Bessie (Musick) Anderson. He was preceded in death by 2 wives. In 1989 he married Evelyn Graham who survives. Also surviving are daughters, Irene (Jeff) Flannagan, Indianapolis, IN and Leah (Jeff) Reeves, Duluth, GA, a son, James F. Jr., (Pamela) Anderson, Chillicothe, step-daughters, Tanya (Alan) Gwinn, CA, April Clark, Sunbury, OH, Linda Sams, Toledo, OH and Julia Corra, Vienna, WV, step-sons, Brad (Janeen) Baldridge, Columbus, OH, David Tomlinson, Lockport, IL and Bill Tomlinson, Louisville, KY, 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 15 step-grandchildren and 8 step-great-grandchildren, a sister, Mary Streevey, Chillicothe. He was a second father to Diane, Karen, Janie and Sam. His parents and a brother, Chester Anderson preceded him in death. Mr. Anderson was a conductor for the B&O Railroad, retiring in 1991. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. An active member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church, where he had served as a Trustee, was a member of the Gideons' International and a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. He was a member of Scioto Lodge #6, F&AM and the Scottish Rite. Jim had a love of life and following his retirement, he and his wife, Evelyn had traveled extensively. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, Apr. 4, 2009 in Tabernacle Baptist Church with Rev. Steven Schmidt officiating. The family will receive friends at the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday, Apr. 2, 2009 and from 10:00 to 1:00 pm on Friday, Apr. 3, 2009 where a Gideon's service will be held at 1:00 pm, followed by graveside services in Little Mound Cemetery, Richmond Dale with military rites by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard.. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gideon's International.
