Irma Gale Jones

Irma Gale Jones, 85, of Kingsford, MI passed from this life on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008 in Kingsford, MI. She was born Jan. 14, 1922 in Congress Park, IL, the daughter of the late Ore and Addie (Borden) Green. On Sept. 1, 1951 she married Eugene R. Jones who preceded her in death Nov. 14, 1998. She is survived by a daughter, Kathy (John) Kelm, Spread Eagle, WI, a son, John E. Jones, Yuicaipa, CA, grandchildren, Jessica (Kevin) Keto, Grand Rapids, MI, Audrey Kelm, Sacramento, CA and Christian Kelm, Milwaukee, WI, siblings, Martha "Annette" (Al) Crabb, Hammond, IN, Mary (Cass) Gonska, Huntsville, AL, John (Jeanette) Green, Crown Point, IN and Margaret "Susie" (Al) Morningstar, Munster, IN and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Jones had been a resident of the Iron Mountain - Kingsford, MI area since 1994 when she relocated from Dickenson, TX. She was a long time employee of the University of Texas Medical System in Galveston, TX and was a member of the Dickenson, TX First Baptist Church. She was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Kingsford, MI. Her love of the Lord was first and foremost in her life. She was a devoted grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Private services are being held in Iron Mountain, MI under the direction of the Erickson-Rochon & Nash Funeral Home. Private graveside services and burial will be in Caldwell Cemetery at the discretion of the family, under the direction of the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a memorial in her honor at First Presbyterian Church, 395 Hamilton Ave., Kingsford, MI 49802 or Our Saviors Lutheran Church, 1210 S. Kimberly Ave., Iron Mountain, MI 49801.
