Howard “Pete” Seymour, 79, of Chillicothe unexpectedly passed from this life on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016 in Adena Regional Medical Center.  He was born Sept. 25, 1937 in Vinton County, the son of Clifford and Scioto Mae (Dawson) Seymour.  On Dec. 31, 1958 he married Gloria M. Kight who preceded him in death Nov. 19, 2013.

Surviving are his daughters, Nicole (Chad) Lurty and Amy (Glenn) Darling, all of Chillicothe; his grandchildren, to whom he was lovingly known as “Pap”,  Aaron Lurty, Adam Darling, Joseph Lurty, Kacey Darling and Luke Darling; his sister, Katheryn Whitmer, KY; his brothers, Paul “Bud” Seymour, Columbus, IN, George Seymour, Delaware, OH and Melvin Seymour, Berwick, PA; a host of nieces and nephews and his beloved canine companion “Zeke”.  His parents and 5 sisters preceded him in death.

Mr. Seymour had been a superintendent of the Service Department for the City of Chillicothe, retiring in 2000.  He was a U.S. Army veteran.

The family wishes to acknowledge and thank the staff of 2NE at Adena Regional Medical Center for their care and compassion during Pete’s illness.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Bruce Hines officiating.  Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery with military honors by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday.
