Howard Joseph Loschert, 90, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Saturday evening, Dec. 17, 2011 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born May 23, 1921 in Fremont, OH, the son of Charles Urban and Flora Margaret (Lorenz) Loschert. On Dec. 7, 1940 he married Helen M. Hartmus. Surviving is his wife of 71 years, Helen; daughters, Margaret Ann and husband, Louis D'Argenio, Reisterstown, MD and Carol Jo Loschert, Westminister, MD; sons, Roger Alan Loschert, San Jose, CA and Howard Randall and Wife, Jacquie Loschert, Ashland, KY; a sister-in-law whom he helped raise, Karen Hartmus and husband, Alois Keelers, Houston, TX; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Wanda Loschert, AZ, Eva Consolver and Connie Hartmus, both of Chillicothe and Joan Cox, Waverly; brothers-in-law, John and wife, Virginia Hartmus, Frankfort and Steve and wife, Peggy Hartmus, Chillicothe and a host of many nieces, nephews and many special life-long friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a great-grandson, Harley Bebe, a daughter-in-law, Sally Loschert, a sister, Rosemary, brothers, Charles, Larry and Alton and several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law. Howard attended St. Peter's grade school and Chillicothe High School. He was a supervisor for Mead Paper, retiring in 1986, was a life-long member of St. Peter's Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Mead Foreman's Club. For many years, he and Helen enjoyed traveling the United States and spending winters in Naples, Fl. Most evenings, you could find him playing cards with special friends and family. A service of Celebration and Remembrance will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Fr. William Hahn officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the hour of service on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice.
