Harry Delano Mcmanis

Harry Delano McManis, 68, of Chillicothe, passed from this life on Thursday February 4, 2016 after a lenghty illness.

Harry was born on April 29, 1947 in Lauelville, Ohio to Roy Nelson and Cora McManis of Buena Vista, Ohio.  Harry came from a large family of 9 brothers and sisters.  Of that group three survive; Rev. Jim McManis of McArthur, Ohio, Clarence McManis of Illionis and Rose Miller of Rushville, Ohio.

Harry married Sharon Marie Arnett in 1965.  She preceded him in death on January 17, 1997.  Two sons were born to Harry and Sharon; Clint McManis of Chillicothe, Ohio and David McManis of Georgia.  Harry is also survived by eight grandchildren.

Harry graduated from Hocking Technical College, in Nelsonville, Ohio, where he studied criminology.  He would use that information when he became a correction officer at Southeastern Correctional Institute.  He would, after a lengthy career in Corrections, retire from that post.

Harry's hobbies included hunting, woodworking, and reading.  His favorite book was the Bible and is favortie music was Southern Gospel.  Though Harry was only able to attend Calvary Apostolic Church for a short time.  He considered himself a member of that church.

Harry McManis will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Private servcies were held at the discretion of the family.
