Glenn W. Renkel

Glenn W. "Long Legs" Renkel, 71, of Chillicothe passed from this life Tuesday afternoon, June 19, 2007 at his home following an extended illness. He was born Nov. 25, 1935 in Chillicothe, the son of Leonard and Mildred (Snyder) Renkel. Surviving are daughters, Carol (Jeff) Cardin and Patty Shackleford, all of Chillicothe, grandchildren, Raymond and Christopher Detty, Joseph Shackleford and Mandy (Mike) Felder, a special granddaughter, Samie Reed, 6 great grandchildren, sisters, Pauline Davis and Linda (Ernie) Bowles, all of Chillicothe and Kathy Hartman, CA, brothers, James (Ina) Davis, Chillicothe, Leo Renkel, CA and Charles Renkel, NC and several nieces and nephews. His parents, step-father, Paul Davis and grandparents, Martin and Daisy Snyder preceded him in death. Mr. Renkel was a resident of Zanesville, OH for 20 years before returning to Chillicothe. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Korea and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. Graveside funeral services will be held in Greenlawn Cemetery on a day and time to be announced. Calling hours will not be observed. The Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home is serving the family.
