Glen M. Cox, Sr.

Glen M. Cox, Sr., 77, of Chillicothe passed from this life Sunday morning, October 10, 2010, at his residence following an extended illness. He was born on November 27, 1932 in Chillicothe, the son of the late Floyd and Bessie (Hertenstein) Cox. On December 10, 1955 he married the former Minnie T. Gleason who preceded him in death on July 10, 2008. Surviving is a son Glen M. "Marty" (Cynthia) Cox, Chillicothe, grandchildren Ashley (J.R.) Badger, Chillicothe, Ryan (Stephanie) Cox, Canal Winchester, great-grandchildren Cameron Badger, Avery Cox and Aiden Cox, step great-grandchildren Olivia and Jayonna Badger, sisters Pearl Harrington, Marjorie Seymour, and Evelyn Stewart, all of Chillicothe. He was preceded in death by a sister Annabelle Woods, brothers, Merle E., Lloyd, Floyd, Richard, Paul, Roger, James, and William. Mr. Cox was employed by the Betsy Ross Bakery for over 20 years, and later was employed by the Columbus Dispatch. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. A devoted father and grandfather, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday October 14, 2010 in the Chillicothe Baptist Church with Pastor William James officiating. Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery with military rites by the Ross County Veteran's Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
