Geraldine L. Butterbaugh, 86, of Ray, Ohio passed from this life on Friday, November 1, 2013 in Holzer Medical Center, Jackson, Ohio. She was born August 10, 1927 in Vinton County, the daughter of Ernest and Ruth (Detty) Clipner. On August 17, 1947 she married Floyd Butterbaugh who preceded her in death in 1967.
Surviving are her children, Leona Miller, Ray, Ohio and Kathy Butterbaugh, Wellston, Ohio; a step-son, John (Karen) Butterbaugh, Chillicothe; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 4 step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Ethel Butterbaugh, Chillicothe; several nieces and nephews and many special friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Eugene Butterbaugh, 2 sisters and a brother.
Mrs. Butterbaugh was a retired cook. She was known as “Nanny” to everyone.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, November 5, 2013 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Roy Truman officiating. Burial will follow in Dunkard Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday.
The family wishes to thank the nurses and aides at the Jenkins Care Center. She loved all of you, especially “Nanny’s boy”, Joseph Barker.
