Geneva B. Smith

Geneva Belle Smith, 91, of Londonderry, passed from this life on Saturday evening, June 11, 2011 in Heartland of Chillicothe following an extended illness. She was born Aug. 25, 1919 in Chillicothe, the daughter of the late Howard N. and Elma Ann (Reed) Downs. On Feb. 3, 1946 she married Donald C. Smith who preceded her in death on Aug. 14, 2004. Surviving are her daughters, Connie and husband, Daniel Weber, Ashville, OH and Kathy and husband, Mike Murray, Chillicothe; a son, Steven K. and wife, Anita Smith, Londonderry; grandchildren, Travis and wife, Regina McGraw, Stephanie and husband, Eddie Butler and Justin Murray; great grandchildren, Hollie Ann McGraw and Tyler Wayne McGraw; a first cousin who was like a brother to her, Daniel Reed, Springfield, MO and many friends. A daughter, Carol Ann McGraw preceded her in death. Mrs. Smith had been an employee of the powder plant during WW II. She was a life member of the Valley Friends Church and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. She was a member of the WCTU and had been a volunteer at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, June 15, 2011 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Dean Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Boblett Cemetery, Vinton County. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Tuesday.
