Garnet E. Lump, 91, of Chillicothe, passed from this life, 11:00 am, Friday, November 20, 2009 at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was born March 13, 1918, in Huntington Township of Ross County, the daughter of William and Bessie Rittenhouse Schumann. July 8, 1939 she married Elmer R. Lump who preceded her in death November 5, 1984. Surviving are two daughters, Kay Stewart and Kathy (Tony) Smith; one son Larry (Carolyn) Lump all of Chillicothe; 8 grandchildren Jim (Shannon) Lump, Michael (Carma) Lump, Tammy (Kevin) Free, Pam (Brett) Hurles, Angie Stewart, Kevin Smith, Brandon Smith, and Kristen Smith; 9 great-grandchildren Maria (Dan) Dudzinski, Amy (Nick) Barrows, Mike Lump, Jimmy Lump, Mandy Lump, Hanna Lump, Corey Lump, Kaylyn Hurles, and Tyler Free; two great great grandchildren Raegan and Rylee Dudzinski; one brother-in-law, Waldo Blakeman, Bourneville, and several nieces and nephews. One sister Isabelle Blakeman preceded her in death. Mrs. Lump was a devoted member of the First Church of the Nazarene, she was the owner and operator of Garnet's Beauty Shop on East Main Street for 48 years, and a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. A celebration of Garnet's Life will be held 11:00 am, Tuesday, November 24, 2009 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Pastors Jerry Carpenter and Jason Everidge officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday. The Family would like to express their deepest thanks to the entire Adena Hospice Team, and would request memorial contributions be made to the Hospice of Adena Health Systems as appreciation for Garnet's care.
