Fred E. Stitt

Fred E. Stitt, 78, of Chillicothe, passed from this life at his residence, 2:45 PM, Wednesday, August 4, 2010, following a lengthy illness. He was born January 23, 1932 in Chillicothe, the son of Charles E. and Emma Buskirk Stitt. In 1986, he married Connie Elliott, who preceded him in death December 12, 2008 Surviving are a son Freddie (Krista) Stitt, Chillicothe, grandchildren Kiefer and Savannah Stitt, two brothers Robert (Jeanette) Stitt, Sunbury and Denny (Tobie) Stitt, Chillicothe, and several nieces and nephews. His parents, wife, one sister Emma Jean Reed, and one brother Danny Stitt preceded him in death. Mr. Stitt was a veteran of the US Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict, and was a long time Electrician belonging to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Private Funeral Services were held in Grandview Cemetery with Pastor Kurt King officiating, and military graveside rites were performed by the Ross County Veterans Firing Squad. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Adena Health Systems. The Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home served the family.
