Frank Lane Smith, 93, of
Chillicothe
, passed from this life early Wednesday morning,
Feb. 22, 2012

Westmoreland Place
following an illness of several months.
He was born
Aug. 10, 1918
in
Jackson
,
OH
, the son of the late William L. and Blanche (Pine) Smith. On
Oct. 1, 1954
he married Joyce L. Conrad who survives.
Also surviving is a son, David L. and his wife, Kristin Smith and a granddaughter, Parker Smith, all of
Columbus
.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Walter and Leroy and a sister, Margaret.
Mr. Smith was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in WW II.
He was a retired employee of DuPont with 38 years of service and was a long-time member of
Tabernacle
Baptist
Church
. In his younger days, Frank was a member of the Waterloo Wonders Basketball Club team who won the State Championship in 1934.
He loved animals, especially dogs.
Graveside funeral services will be held at

with Pastor David White officiating, with military honors by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard.
