Everett D. Copenhaver, 67, of Kingston, passed from this life Wednesday morning, March 25, 2015 at his residence following a lengthy battle with cancer.  He was born December 1, 1947 in Chillicothe, the son of Raymond and Amie (Dyer) Copenhaver.  On July 8, 1972 he married Karen S. Sayre, who survives.

Also surviving are his daughters, Amie (B.J.) Unger and Jillian (James) Woods, all of Chillicothe; grandsons, Braxton Unger and Jaxon Woods and sisters, Geneva McGarvey, Elaine Hutchison and Judy Copenhaver, all of Chillicothe.  His parents, sisters Barbara, Carol and Kay and brothers Russell and Marvin preceded him in death.

Mr. Copenhaver was an employee of Kenworth with 22 years of service, retiring in 2010.  A U.S. Navy veteran, he served during the Vietnam era.  He was an avid golfer and OSU fan and enjoyed being outdoors.  A devoted and loving grandpa, he enjoyed spending time with his family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 29, 2015 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Jack Norman officiating.  Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Kingston with Military Honors by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Saturday.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Adena Health Foundation Cancer Fund, 272 Hospital Rd., Chillicothe, OH 45601 or to the Adena Hospice, 2077 Western Ave., Chillicothe, OH 45601
