Evelyn Ruth Rucker

Evelyn Ruth (Dicus) O'Brien Rucker, 92, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Friday morning, Oct. 12, 2007 in Heartland of Chillicothe following an extended illness. She was born Apr. 4, 1915 in Jackson, OH, the daughter of John S. and Anna Grace (Davison) Dicus. On Aug. 8, 1936 she married Jesse L. O'Brien who preceded her in death June 7, 1977. On Jan. 25, 1990 she married Ollie J. Rucker who survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Jane Vickers, Chillicothe, a son, Danny R. O'Brien, IN, grandchildren, Jeffery, Ty, Melodie and Jesse, great grandchildren, Cory, Madison, Brice, Caleb, Tyson, Leah and Jessica and her husband's family of 5 children, 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, a special niece, Jo Graves and a special friend, Lucille Harper. Her parents, an infant son, an infant grandson, a sister and 4 brothers preceded her in death. Mrs. Rucker was a member of the Happy Valley Chapel and the church Quilting Club. She had served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2007 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Detty officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday.
