Evelyn Mae Clary

Evelyn Mae Clary, 92, passed away June 9, 2021 at Grant Hospital as the result of a fall at home.  Evelyn was born to Frank and Elizabeth Ratcliff Meeker of Londonderry on August 17, 1928, as one of ten children.  On June 8, 1946 Evelyn married Delbert E. Clary who preceded her in death in 2003.

Evelyn and Delbert have four surviving children, Debra K. Cottrill, Jane (Steve) Brown, Thomas (Jeannie) Clary, and Timothy (Sherry) Clary.  Pamela (Mike) Williams passed away in 2010.  They also had 2 children who died at birth, Eslie and Linda.  Evelyn is survived by grandchildren Travis Clary, Samuel Bookwalter, Matthew (Janet) Bookwalter, Allison (Rich) Chappell, Adam Clary, Neeley (Jeff) Allen, Tony Clary and Megan Clary and great grandchildren Austen Bookwalter, Rylee Bookwalter, Leah Bookwalter, Ashlynn Bookwalter, Hayleigh Clary, Maeley Allen, Wyatt Allen, Elizabeth Nesler, Nicholas Nesler and Alexander Chappell. Also surviving are step-grandchildren Grace Bloom and Mike, Shane, and Daren Meddock, and a sister, Mary Elliott.

Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings John W. Meeker, Howard Meeker, Donald Meeker, Robert Meeker, James Meeker, Helen Ice, Ruth McWhorter and Marie Diehl.

Evelyn was a proud member of the 1946 graduating class of Southeastern High School.  She enjoyed spending time with her sisters.  In her healthier years she loved to shop and take walks with her friend, Linda Hartley.  Upon Delbert’s retirement, they enjoyed operating the Buffalo Trails Campground in Londonderry for several years.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday June 14, 2021 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Bruce Hines officiating.  Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Monday.  An online memorial is available at www.fawcett-palmer.com.
