Eva R. Vickers

Eva Reesa Vickers, 90, of Chillicothe, passed from this life early Tuesday morning, Nov. 23, 2010 in Heartland of Chillicothe following an extended illness. She was born Aug. 31, 1920 in Ross County, the youngest of seven children and one of twin daughters of Joseph G. and Esta A. (Ray) Baker. She was married Feb. 11, 1940 to Daniel Vickers who preceded her in death June 27, 1993. Surviving is a daughter, Nonna, of Chillicothe, sons and daughters-in-law, Kermit and Shirley Vickers, of Chillicothe and Danny and Linda Vickers, of Julian, WV, ten grandchildren, twenty one great-grandchildren, a great great-granddaughter and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Her parents, five sisters, including her twin, Evelyn (Baker) Mankin and a brother preceded her in death. Mrs. Vickers was a charter member of Happy Valley Church of Christ in Christian Union and served in various positions in the church. She was a faithful member until her health prevented her from attending. She greatly enjoyed traveling around the county to visit many churches for services. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm Friday, Nov. 26, 2010 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Ron Cottrill officiating. Burial will follow in Londonderry Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:30 am until the hour of service on Friday.
