Ethel Ann (Clipner) Butterbaugh

Ethel Ann Butterbaugh, 87 of Londonderry joined her loved ones in heaven on Monday, March 26, 2018 after declining health.  She was born December 13, 1930 in Vinton County to Ernest R. and Ruth E. (Detty) Clipner.  On November 28, 1949 she married Arthur J. Butterbaugh who preceded her in death in 1999.

Surviving are her six children, Ruth Barney, Ernie Butterbaugh, Dwight Butterbaugh, Tim Butterbaugh, Delores “Sue” Clark and Arteena Bigham and their families.  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four siblings, Ralph, Lucille, Martha and Mary.

Ethel graduated for Vinton County High School in 1949.  While she did work outside the home after he children were grown, the majority of her life was devoted to being a wife, mother and caregiver to others.

Ethel will be missed by her family as well as a host of relatives and friends.  The family wishes to give a special thank you to Phyllis Violet and all of her caregivers.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 29, 2018 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Anne Cox officiating.  Burial will follow in Boblett Cemetery, Old US Route 50, Vinton County.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 NOON UNTIL THE HOUR OF SERVICE ON Thursday.
