Ethan A. Hamblin

Ethan A. Hamblin, 91, of Chillicothe, passed from this life early Saturday morning, July 25, 2009 in Westmoreland Place following an extended illness. He was born Jan. 6, 1918 in Whitley County, KY, the son of Bruce and Patty (Lambdin) Hamblin. On Nov. 18, 1938 he married Betty M. Rinehart and they shared 68 years together until her death on Sept. 6, 2007. Surviving is a daughter, Sonja Seagraves, a daughter-in-law, Barbara Hamblin, both of Chillicothe, grandchildren, Rhonda Schuler, Todd Rundels, Jamie Stephenson and Heidi Fields, 7 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. His parents, sons, Neal R. Hamblin and Wayne A. Hamblin, 2 sisters and 4 brothers preceded her in death. Mr. Hamblin was a retired electrician for Mead Paper with over 35 years of service. He had attended the Hilltop Mission Church. Ethan was a craftsman; he enjoyed making violins by hand and had made 14 during his life. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, July 28, 2009 in Twin Township Cemetery with Rev. Mark Clendaniel officiating. Calling hours will not be observed. The Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home is serving the family.
