Esther E. Madden, 76, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Wednesday morning, July 14, 2010 in Adena Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. She was born July 6, 1934 in Chillicothe, the daughter of John Russell and Hazel Mae (Coy) Coppock. On Feb. 10, 2001 she married Virgil J. Madden who survives. Also surviving are daughters, Debra Klinger, Logan, Rolanda (Phillip) Hurtt, Clarksburg, Robin (John) Washburn, Columbia, SC, Rhonda (Charles) Whealdon, Wilmington, and Roanne Sanders, Columbia, SC, sons, Paul (Kristen) Howard, Clyde, OH, Roland (Patty) Weber, Jr., Galloway, OH, a step-daughter, Christina White, Gallipolis, step-sons, Virgil J. (Cathy) Madden and Evert Madden, all of Columbus, 26 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, a sister, Rev. Ruth DeLong, Sun City, AZ and a brother, Dale Coppock, SC. Her parents, 2 sisters and 4 brothers preceded her in death. Mrs. Madden was a retried supervisor with Robertshaw Controls and had been a demonstrator for Golden Touch Demo's. She was a member of the Christian Life Tabernacle and the Ross Co. Senior Citizens. Esther was an avid reader, a passionate OSU fan and she enjoyed traveling to Florida and thrift shopping. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, July 19, 2010 in the FAWCETT OLIVER GLASS AND PALMER FUNERAL HOME with Rev. Phillip Rutherford officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Sunday.
