Erma Jean Smith

Erma Jean Smith, 70, of Chillicothe, passed form this life Tuesday evening, Aug. 25, 2009 in Pike Community Hospital, Waverly, OH following a brief illness. She was born Apr. 20, 1939 in Chillicothe, the daughter of James Robert and Erma D. (Jones) Smith. Surviving is a daughter and son-in-law, Derre and Tobey Attia, Chillicothe, a granddaughter, Anjelica Attia, a sister, Marian Castlin and brothers, William Marshall Smith and James Robert Smith, Jr., all of Columbus and a host of nieces and nephews. Her parents preceded her in death. Ms. Smith was a retired employee of the Chillicothe Telephone Company. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Chillicothe and was active in the Woman's Group, the Youth Group and had served as a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am Friday, Aug. 28, 2009 in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Alston officiating. Calling hours will not be observed. Burial will be at the discretion of the family. The Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home is serving the family.
