Emmit Clifford Grubb

December 17, 1917 — February 28, 2007

Emmit Clifford Grubb, 89, of Chillicothe, passed from this life Wednesday morning, Feb. 28, 2007 in Westmoreland Place following an extended illness. He was born Dec. 7, 1917 in Ross County, the son of Roy and Edna (Rinehart) Grubb. He was married to Ruth Marjorie Rinehart who preceded him in death in 1987. Surviving are his sons, Gary M. and wife, Barbara Grubb, Terry and his wife, Tamie Grubb and Mark D. Grubb, all of Chillicothe, grandchildren, Heather, Travis, Justin, Joshua, Marcus, Laura and Corey Grubb, several great grandchildren and a sister, Grace Hertenstein, Chillicothe. His parents and three sisters preceded him in death. Mr. Grubb was a carpenter and farmer. He was a Sergeant in the US Army, serving in WWII and received the Purple Heart during the Italian Campaign. He attended Bishop Hill UM Church and was a member of VFW 108 and AMVETS 4. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, Mar. 5, 2007 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Pastor B. Jay Daily officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory gardens with military rites by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 to 7 pm on Sunday.
