Emma L. Shoemaker

Emma L. Shoemaker, 92 of Chillicothe, passed from this life Wednesday morning, Jan 14, 2009 in Westmoreland Place following an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Monday, Jan. 19, 2009 in the Fawcett Oliver Glass and Palmer Funeral Home with Rev. John Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00 to 6:00 pm on Sunday. She was born Sept. 20, 1916 in Ross County, the daughter of Manford and Cora (Hamilton) Cooper. On Sept. 1, 1939 she married H. Eldon Shoemaker who preceded her in death May 14, 1981. Also surviving is a daughter and son-in-law, Sonja and Joe Frazier, a daughter, D. Sue Popadych, all of Chillicothe, grandchildren, Lisa J. Wells, Chillicothe, Heidi Popadych and husband, Craig White, Columbus, Darin L. and wife, Tami Frazier, Chillicothe and Heather L. Popadych, Columbus, great -grandchildren, Josey, Justin, Jordan and Jackson Wells, Morgan Frazier and Emersen Sophia White, a sister, Helen Bethel, Circleville, a sister-in-law, Marriane Hughes, Chillicothe, a brother, Richard Cooper, Nipgen and a host of nieces and nephews. Her parents, sisters, Edna Carroll, Isabel Walls, Mary Mutter, brothers, Wilbur, Edwin and George Cooper preceded her in death. Emma attended Twin Township School and had been an employee of the U.S. Shoe Corporation. She work along with her husband, Eldon, at the Atomic Motor Speedway and also assisted him in his business. Her gentle nature attracted many loving and loyal friends over the years. She was an avid bowler, a wonderful homemaker and well as being a great Mother and Grandmother.
